Here is a recipe for a potato bread that I make in my bread machine. It is so good. This recipe is for a 2 lb loaf. I didn’t know this at first and couldn’t figure out why every time I would go to get it out, it would be exploded all over and a big hole indented into it. My machine only has a 1 lb and 1.5 loaf so now I have to cut the ingredients in half.
-
1 and 1/2 cups water
-
2 tablespoons butter or margarine (softened)
-
2 teaspoons salt
-
4 cups bread flour
-
4 teaspoons sugar
-
1/2 cup instant potato flakes
-
2 and 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
-
Measure and add liquid ingrediants to the bread pan.
-
Measure and add dry ingredients (except yeast) to the bread pan.
-
Use your finger to form a well (hole) in the flour where you will pour the yeast. Yeast must never come in contact with a liquid when you are adding ingredients. Measure yeast and pour into the well (hole).
-
Snap the baking pan into the breadmaker and close the lid.
-
Press “select” button to choose the Basic setting.
-
Press the “crust color” button to choose light, medium or dark crust.
Enjoy!

The Secret Garden

Hi Tanya! The garden looks like the victim of a nuclear holocaust, I’m afraid. We’ll see if it can recover. I am not crying about it today, but it does hurt to look at it. I’ll try to get some pictures up here shortly. And I can’t say I “love” being pregnant; in fact, I’ve often said ‘if only I could go pick one (kid) up at the market…’
Sounds good:)
I haven’t used my bread machine for quite awhile!
It looks like you and I have a lot of similar ideas;)
Thanks for stopping by.
